Visiting Salar De Uyuni

Sometimes the most exciting holidays you can have are those holidays where you are going to a place less frequented. One such place that is off the beaten track and will take your breath away is Salar De Uyuni.

Salar De Uyuni is located in Bolivia and is considered to be the world’s largest salt flat. This makes for some beautiful and mystical landscapes during all times of the year. The area covers over 10,000 square kilometres and the sale in this area can be up to 10 metres thick.

To visit the area, people generally take a four day tour, and is done in four wheel drives.  There are a number of great sites to visit in the area rather than just the salt flats. There is the colourful lakes as well as Geysers and Hot Springs. There are also a number of beautiful lakes in Tupiza and some wonderful landsacpes in Sillar.
